Terms of Membership
The “Valley Exchange” is a not for profit organisation. It is administered by a committee who act on behalf of the members.
The “Valley Exchange” provides an information hub through which members can exchange goods and services. It also maintains a central account of these exchanges on behalf of members.
Members may give to or receive from each another,credit in the local currency unit called “Lorens”. These transactions are recorded on the “Valley Exchange”website.
Only the account holder can authorise the transfer of “Lorens” from their account to that of another, with the exception of a minimal service charge for annual fees or use of cheques.
No interest is charged on accounts. The committee is authorised to charge joining fees and renewal fees in Lorens and or Australian Dollars.
All accounts start at 0. Members are not obliged to have any credits in their account in order to trade.
On leaving The “Valley Exchange”members with outstanding commitment are obliged to balance their account.
Any member is entitled to know the balance and turnover of another member’s account.
The “Valley Exchange” can give no warranty as to the value, condition or quality of the service or goods offered.
Members are individually responsible for their own personal tax liabilities.
The “Valley Exchange” administrator may decline to record an account or directory entry considered inappropriate for legal or other reasons.
The committee reserve the right to deny membership in exceptional circumstances at their discretion.
The committee may act on behalf of the group in seeking explanation of satisfaction from a person whose activity is considered to be contrary to the interests of the membership and as a last resort may remove members from the system.
